The Near Peer Mentor program at 线上博彩平台 is looking for incoming/current college students or students attending trade schools who are passionate about education equity 和 invested in serving their community in collaboration with high school teachers.  Positions are available for the 2024-2025 school year at Alliance (Meek Campus), Benson, Clevel和, Grant, Franklin, Ida B. Wells, Lincoln, Jefferson, McDaniel & 罗斯福高中.

Integrating resources 和 insights of families, 教育工作者, 和 mentors is key to creating an academic environment where students thrive, have the tools 和 skills to succeed, 和 aspire to higher education 和 careers. To take action on that vision, the 近同伴导师计划 places teams of college-attending mentors, young pre-professionals recruited from the local community, with partner teachers to provide mentoring services in the classroom. THE NEAR PEER MENTOR PROGRAM CAN BE IMPLEMENTED FOR TEACHERS IN ALL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOLS AND ONE ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL - ALLIANCE @ MEEK CAMPUS.

What do npm do in the classroom? npm collaborate with teacher partners to enrich the classroom environment 和 engage students by sharing their voice 和 lived experience, model behaviors 和 attitudes conducive to academic success, provide college 和 career exposure activities, 和 help students develop a strong, positive college- 和 career identity.

How are npm 和 their Partner Teachers supported? GEAR UP, in partnership with 大学 & 职业准备, provides wrap-around support for npm with a team of School 大学 Coordinators, 美国服务队成员, 和 土佐. npm receive close supervision, 质量培训, 和 professional development retreats throughout their term of service.
